To develop HippoMeter, Marko and his team have generated data and feedback from over 200 founder & enabler teams worldwide. Since 2018, he has also gained market insight as EIC Jury Member, interviewing nearly 200 startup teams and helping select the best ones for 200M€ in growth funding.
Apprenticed by serial entrepreneurs in Finland and the US, he learned early on how Ownership is key to realising Big Opportunities. He started career by building the VC arm of one of Finland’s pioneering private equity groups and leading it through MBO, global fund raising, venture building, cross-border growth, exit mode, and trade sale.
He then defended PhD on VC strategy logic and laid scientific foundation for the HippoMeter method as Invited Professor of Growth Venture Creation. Before productising HippoMeter, he launched Kasvu Open for chamber of commerce in Finland and Silicon Valley, and boosted startup ecosystem in Vietnam, based on its method.
